What a great idea, to use the bubblewrap to soften the 
  floor.  I'll keep that in mind.  
  Another thought, I may have shared in the past. A friend
  has used this successfully when treating piggies with
  sore feet (same description). She simply slathered on
  vaseline after a good soak in warm epsom salts water.
  We had a piggie or two whose feet started out to show
  these symptoms, and we were able to head it off with
  this treatment. No guarantee it will work in every case,
  but it's so simple it's certainly worth a try. 
  (note: this is an experience every slave should have, any
  way! Holding your piggie still in your lap while you hold
  a foot or two in a shallow dish of the warm epsom salts
  bath!  ;-)
