Hi Everyone. Seussy has been through quite an ordeal this week. I took him to the vet on Wed. for a checkup b/c he's been acting very lethargic and squinting his eyes. With the exception of a slightly long molar to watch, he got a clean bill of health. On Thursday, I noticed he sounded congested so off to the vet we went. The vet said that he had the beginning stages of a URI and sent him home with some bactrim. His wheezing has eased a little but this morning when I went downstairs to check on him, his nose was bleeding and he was sneezing but was no longer congested. We rushed him to the vet and they put him on Meloxicam, an anti-inflammatory medicine. It's worked well so far. He's still a little tired but is acting normal otherwise.

Ahhhh! Has anyone else on the digest had a similiar experience? I've been a member of the digest for quite a while and I don't remember reading about a piggy's nose bleeding. I guess I'm looking for extra suggestions to make sure that I'm doing all I can. Should I feed him Critical Care too? How about probiotics? The vet said that I didn't need to worry about that but I want to be extra safe.

Hamlet is fine so far. He sneezes every once in a while but he's breathing fine. They're separated now. Seussy is eating well and hasn't lost any weight which I think is a good sign. He's still fiesty too. I have a slight little bite mark to show it (and I'm proud of it :-) I'm so worried about my little guy, actually both little guys.
