Hi,
  I'm new to this site. In response to the flea problem. I have a vet who suggested ADVANTAGE for dogs or cats. Just rub a dot on your finger and place it on the shoulders. I met a woman who runs a shelter for piggies and rabbits and she uses this treatment also. I have used this once a month for over a year without any adverse reactions. Even on my pregnant cavy.  I hope this helps. I have cats also and I was afraid they would bring fleas in the house.
