I have used ADVANTAGE for dogs/cats with out any problems. I just put a dot on my finger and rub it on the space between their shoulders. I have never had a problem and I have used it since it first came out. Please make sure you don't use ADVANTIX  as this is poisonous to all animals except dogs.
