It's been a very long tome since I have written anything to the GPDD but
today upon reading the very sad news about Butterscotch, I am compelled to offer
my deepest and heart felt sympathy to his mother...To have first suffered
the loss of BROWNIE BEAR and bit BUTTERSCOTCH is all but unbearable I am
SURE...I speak not from my heart but from experience on the passing of our little
boy GEORGE several years ago..I so wish I could say that in time the passing
of these little ones will be easier to bear but in all honesty...there will
FOREVER be a tear in their mother's eye when remembering how they filled her
heart with joy each and every day they shared with her...I wish I could say I
would have had the courage to do what she did for him and help our little guy
over the bridge...but the selfishness in me tried not to see him cross...you
did the right thing by making his pain disappear...You spoke of BUTTERSCOTCH
never being the same after the crossing of BROWNIE BEAR, is it not
understandable that in YOUR loss of BROWNIE, his loss was so much more magnified...The
bond they shared I assure you transcended time and his passing was not that
he loved you less but that his love for BROWNIE was very special and his need
to be with BROWNIE was deeper than others might ever hope to
understand...Once again I offer my condolences and I assure you that the boy, GEORGE was
there to welcome BROWNIE and THEY ARE BOTH there welcoming BUTTERSCOTCH...and
one day, your little guys will be standing on the bridge to welcome you...I am
sorry for your loss...

Sincerely,

Joseph C. Petrillo, GEORGE the guinea pigs daddy forever
