I have just taken Fugly to the vet as he has scaly feet and we were worried that it may be early bumblefoot.

The good news is that it is not bumblefoot it is just the harding of the pads, we realised it is from where he sits on the upper level of cage with feet overhanging the edge and head rested on feet we have now made him a wider upper level hoping he will sit away from the edge and not put pressure on his feet, if this works will his feet get better or are the always going to be scaly? Peter Gurneys book just says cuts the scales down if they re somewhere they can get caught and the vet said not to put vaseline or anything on as this may make Fugly bite them and make problem worse, is there anything I can do?

The vet also wanted to know if he was drinking more and if he was getting enough vitamin C, if these are just pressure sores why would she need to know the above could they be sign of something else or is this just general health check questions?

All advise gratefully received.

M + Fugly (whose feet are now fugly)
