Jaime,
With your recent loss, do not let the ignorance and failings of our legal system to affect you so much. Perhaps this is not God's way of saying you should not take care of and help animals. After all, they are put into humans' care so often just in the New Testiment. Most world religions that I have researched personally and for college courses have some version of this charge to protect the earth and its creatures in some way or another. No one is an exception to those requests, not even you or I. Because other people are unappriciative does not mean our personal dieties do not appriciate our actions. That man may have been acquitted of his charges, but I would hope that the Law Enforcement officers will keep a closer eye on his operation. So he didn't get his just punishment this time? Eventually it may add up. And do not forget that every religion also has it's rule about how to treat others. Remember, he will get his punishment in some form eventually:-) Perhaps he will be made into cage bars for our guinea pigs to chew on:-)
