Joanne ~

 I'm afraid I'm a big fan of Oxbow's. I get their orders within a
couple of days and they take credit cards so you don't have to wait for
Paypal to credit Kleenmama's account. Delivery from her also takes
longer for me here in Tennessee. I have switched to the orchard grass
which I understand is just as good as the Timothy hay. I like the
orchard grass because there are no stalks and so no left overs. It also
vaccums up easier! Although the shipping is a killer, when you break it
down, even with the shipping, it's cheaper than buying it by the smaller
bag. I am now getting the 25 lb box ... the 50 lb box is just getting
too hard for these old knees and back to handle getting up the stairs to
my apartment. I have never had a problem with the quality of the hay
from Oxbow. I have not tried Sweet Meadow.

A local Co-Op has orchard grass bales for about $7. I keep saying I
will try it but it is a mixture of brown and green grass but that may
have to do with the draught. I just love the Oxbow stuff ... it's so
nice and green! I gave the Munchees a sample of the Co-Op stuff and
they didn't seem to be phased by the brown grass and ate it. I may get
some before the end of the season and give it a real try. It certainly
would save me a bundle ... if they like it in the long term, of course.
