Hi folks,
First, thanks for all the wonderful info on the fighting pigs and the
pellets. I still think the chattering has to do with aggression though,
because it only happens when there is a row between the girls. They did
eat some of their Oxbough tonight so I guess they are making a liar out of
me!
I decided to bring them into the living room to spend some time with Earl
and I, thinking that perhaps a change of scenery would make them happy an
hopefully, restore peace. hMmmmm. I took a couple of towels and draped our
oversized coffee table with them then put their favorite things like their
pigloo, their chewbular and their wood log tunnel up there for them to play
with. I included some treats and veggies scattered here and there for them
to have fun finding them and I placed a heavy knick knack beside the
chewbular so they couldn't knock it off the table. Hah!!
All started well. They seemed to be having a good time. But, in about 5
minutes, Sam started her rumbling, shoving, "I'm the boss here" crap. So,
we did a piggy time out. I got Earl to take her out and put her back in
her
cage alone and let Tabby continue to play out in the living oom wiht us.
But wouldn't you know it? After about 10 minutes, Tabitha started crying
for Samantha. Go figure! So, Earl went and got Sammy and brought her back
to the living room. All was actually going really well then. I don't know
if the time out worked or if they were biding their time.
I had to go to the kitchen for a few minutes and Earl was (*supposed* to bbe
watching the girls. Well.... he said he heard the chewbular fall off the
table, which took some doing, because it was braced on that side with a
heavy knick knack. He saw Samantha standing beside it and plop, off it
went. She didn't seem to make much of it other than to look down at the
floor like "Gee, did I do that?"
At that point, Earl figured he'd give it back to them in a minute and he
resumed watching his movie. All of a sudden, out of the corner of his eye,
he saw a bit of movement on the floor He looked over to see Tabitha
scooting across the floor, heading for the office, where her cage is. It
did not dawn on him at first what he was seeing but then he did a "HUH?
double take and jumped up to get her. When he did, she bout-faced and went
back for the tunnel. LOL> She was ok! Thank GOD!
Puts me in mind of those totally insane people who go over the waterfalls
in barrels but in this case, I have a sneaky suspicion that Sammy had
something to do with this particular feat of daring.
Good God, what next????????
Just wanted to share...
Hugs, wheeks & winks from
Lynn, Samantha & Tabitha (The sllightly shook up)
