This is your friendly reminder that the "Annual Candle Lighting for Peter Gurney" will take place on March 9th. We want everyone to participate, and all you have to do is light a candle during the evening of March 9th. This is the Digester's tribute to Peter Gurney, who passed away in July 2006, of cancer, in England. He was a tireless guinea pig advocate, who wrote many of the books on guinea pigs that we all use as our source of information. Our first candle lighting took place when we learned of his death, and in our GPDD "free-form" way, we agreed to hold a candle lighting each year, on March 9th - the day of his birthday, to remember him.

As we light candles in our respective time zones, the light will literally move around the world. It is also a good and fitting way to remember our own dear guinea pigs who have crossed over the Rainbow Bridge.

I hope everyone will put this on their calender, and light a candle on the evening of March 9th. I'll remind you again next week, so sorry for the repetition. Thanks.

  Audrey and Gordon (the GP)
