Hello Slaves,
Well, yesterday (Monday) was
a heck of a day. I took both
pigs to see Dr. Griffin because
Butterscotch's breathing was
sounding funny (like louder
than usual) and he was itching,
like maybe he had mites. So,
I gave him Ivermectin last
Friday night and he tested
negative for mites. But, they
said that it's good that I
gave him the Ivermectin as a
precaution. Also, he's on
Bactrim for the next 10-14 days
because he had a little congestion
in his lungs, but otherwise his
breathing sounded normal.

I also had x-rays done on B-Bear
to see where that BIG stone was
and this is unbelievable, but
BB passed that BIG stone! I think
that maybe she passed it last
week, when she had those 2 days
where she wouldn't eat or drink.
But, I'm not really sure.

Well, that's the good news, but the
bad news is that she's just not
doing well. I have tried to get
her Critical Care feedings in her,
but she's just not interested. She
just lets it dribble out of her
mouth. And when I tried to give
her some Metacam (which she Loves),
she wasn't interested in that
either (which has Never happened).
Even when she's been at her worst,
she will Always gobble down some
Metacam. (Sigh)

So, guys, I think this is really
it. Dr. G gave her some Sub Q's
and vitamin injections, and they
want me to bring her back tomorrow
and leave her all day for more
Sub Q's. But, I told them I would
call them in the morning, because
I think it may not be fair to my
Bear at this point. I know my
Brownie Bear and I truly believe
that she wants me to stop trying
to save her and to let her be with
her Brownie "Pumpkin Pig". I'm
holding her right now in a BB
Burrito, and she's sort of laying
on her side and she just has
'that look'. You all know what I
mean.

I am Sad, of course, but honestly,
I feel numb at this point. I keep
going through this and crying
myself to sleep at night, but I'm
not going to let myself cry tonight.
Brownie Bear is 5 years/4 months old,
and that is a respectable age for
a guinea pig. And she has lived a
long, wonderful life in a home full
of Love. I just want her to be in
Peace at this point...
