Your story about Brownie Pumpkin Pig is so very sad and it looks as though the end of his fight is near. There always comes a point when you have to say enough is enough and it is SO hard to do.
Other readers might like to skip this next bit.
I always bury my lost piggies in the garden with little name boards and a new plant over them. I often walk round and read their names and remember them so I can understand your reluctance to go ahead with cremation. My lovely vet will always keep a small pet that has passed away at his surgery for the owner to collect and sometimes they cannot come in for a few days. In this case, he wraps the little one in a towel or bag and keeps him in his freezer until the owner can collect him. Then, when they arrive, their pet looks just as they did in life and can be taken home for burial.
So I thought that you might like to do the same and can then hold a special burial when the snow has gone. I had to do this once at home when the ground was frozen so hard that I couldn't break it up even with a pick axe. It was a sad thing to do but at least my piggy was buried with all of his friends in the garden.
We are thinking of you at this sad time.
