  Britt-
So glad that things are looking up a bit for Brownie . . .
we’ll continue to keep our paws crossed, and keep you
both in our prayers. You know, even if this isn’t caused
by a Vit C deficiency, he will still need extra to recover
from this. As for the calcium, I now remember my vet
recommending giving TUMS to them – it’s great for
adding calcium (my doctor advised me to take it, too).
He will probably just nibble on it, but you can crumble
it up over whatever he will eat. (of course, this is just
for special treatment, not for every day, that could
  cause another problem)
We can’t stress too much what great help our guys
on the DSN are – Tex has saved the day for us more
than once! The one thing I always stress here – if faced
with a situation like this – contact someone early. It may
take a while for them to get back to you, and you know
how fast these little guys can get worse.
Sounds like you’re certainly on the right track (is this
“Pumpkin Pig” getting any pumpkin? That’s another great
food to help a sick piggy)
Thanks for the update – I’m sure there are others here who
  will benefit from your experience!
Keep us updated on Brownie’s progress!

As for the worming question - we use Ivermax, which
is ivermectin, and is for “control of internal and external
parasites”. The way I understand it, for the external
parasites, you can apply it externally (like behind the ears),
and for any internal parasites, give a bit orally. (this will
also control the external problem). But you must be very
careful about the dosage. Generally, for a piggie, just give
an amount the size of a pea. We use the paste form, in
a tube, which is very easy to use. This happens to be
apple flavored, which is a plus. (It also makes them
smell more interesting to the other piggies when you
put them back in their pen!)

many listen, though. That's the problem."
