Hello Slaves,
Well, these past 7days have been very
emotional for me. Remember I told ya'll
about my B-Bear screaming when she
urinated last Wednes and Thurs evenings?
So, on Friday night, I heard her scream
again and I went over to check her and
I discovered that she had passed some
stones. I keep her on towels, so the stones
were easy to see. Well, these stones were
different than I had ever seen with the Bear.
They were tiny, tiny stones, like the size of
those little beady things that you can shake
off of the top of an english muffin (sorry I
can't think of anything else to compare the
size to). So, anyways, after I saw those
stones, I knew that it was time for BBPH
(Brownie Bear Power Hour)! But, this
BBPH was different. Instead of me syringing
her a bunch of water and letting her pee in
her cage (in between syringings), I held
her in my lap on a dark towel and insisted
that she pee on me (well, the
towel). Oh, and when I first syringed her,
I mixed the water with 3 tablets of Shilintong.
[I've been giving her 3 tablets per day]

Now, my BB is trained not to pee on me, so
at first, she wouldn't urinate. So, I had to keep
giving her more and more water, and I
know she knew that I wanted her to go to
the bathroom, but she is a stubborn 'ole
thing. Well, she eventually let loose and
starting peeing. Now, Dr. G had told me in
the past to put BB on her back and rub her
tummy before she urinated because a
guinea pig's bladder is situated lower in
their body as opposed to where they
urinate. (I hope I'm making sense) So,
the stones have like a snow globe effect,
in that if you put your pig on its back and
rub their belly, the stone(s) will move closer
to their urethra (and hopefully get in there
and start to pass).

So, for about 3 hours, I kept putting BB on
her back and rubbing her belly and then
I would turn her over and she would scream
and pass more stones. It was Horrible. But,
I had to do it. And I was there to comfort
her during it all. Well, at some point, BB
really SCREAMED and a HUGE stone
came out. Like, it was 1/5 of a centimeter.
I couldn't believe it.

I saved all of the stones and put them in
a ziplock bag. She passed a total of about
50 tiny bladder stones, and that 1 huge one.

I was so Happy. And I thought, "maybe I
got them all". Well, I was wrong.

More in a bit...

   Love 'n Wheeeeeeeeps,
       Leah...Slave to Brownie Bear
                & Butterscotch :-)
