Hi Mary.  Welcome to Guinea Pig slavedom.  You don't say how old your little one is.  How long have you had him?  My Lady Bug never "talks" but manages to let me know exactly what is expected of me anyway : )  If he's sick (and they are VERY good at hiding this fact) that could also be a reason he's so quiet and not running around.
   
  Now, sneezing is NOT normal at all.  He could be sneezing for a variety of reasons but I would definitely get him to a Cavy Savy vet asap and have him checked out for an upper respitory problem.  If he doesn't sneeze while at your vet, have him do a nasal culture and see what is going on.  The culture might scare your baby but it won't hurt him.  Other reasons he may be sneezing is bedding which is usually the culprit, or hay.  How dusty is the hay you are feeding?  What is he bedded on?  What kind of pellets is he getting?
   
  Since your little one came from a pet store I'm not surprised he's not feeling well.  (Some of us refer to PetCo as PetStupid btw)  He probably has mites.  You will want to treat him with Ivermectin.  Sound like a lot of info huh?  A site I strongly recommend is www.guinealynx.com. He NEVER wheeks, tutters or makes any noise at all he does coo like a newborn baby but that is it .So when will he start making any noise other than the cooing \ purring ? He does not even popcorn so when will he start doing that ? I am worried about a noise he makes it sounds like he is constantly sneezing when he is on me almost like I am taking hs breath away.PetCo where I got him and the vet said it is normal but gave no reason to what it is .Can someone please help me.
