Hi All!
I just wanted to add something i read about the hair chewing. (cheryl's
post)
Although hair chewing is a social activity, or something that is done out of
boredom or addiction. It can also be a sign of lack of vitamin B. Piggies
usually get a lot of their vitamin b by eating their poo (It is a special
kind of poo, i cannot translate it). I know this because the vet had me
feeding yaya extra vitamin B because she has diarhoea quite often (she also
has it this moment...sigh..although it is more like soft poo and she is
otherwise very active, so she'll be fine). what you could try is buying
vitamine b pills for humans and crush them and put a little bit on a piece
of veggy.
I thought about this because JB poopsmith is not able to eat his poo and he
might compensate for this by eating alex's hair.

I currently don't feed yaya vitamin B because she gets science selective
pellets, which contains both prebiotics and vitamine B. I also give yaya
PRObiotics (which is different from prebiotics) i give her protexin which
helps a lot. There are other options for feeding probiotics besides
protexin, i read on this list about benebac and in the past i have used
Yakult and some members use yoghurt (i prefer yakult because piggies are not
really supposed to have dairy products and with yakult they get more
probiotics with less dairy product, but as with everything, opinions differ
and i sure don't know everything)

About the peeing, when you have a well trained piggy, it can be really hard
to get a pee sample. We struggled with guiny. The poor girl, she was sitting
on the table, we were feeding her cucumber and chicory. Sitting ready with
the syringe to suck it up and you could see that she had to go. She looked
like: "hello...hey slave.. can't you see i'm struggling here?? I'm a lady! I
don't pee on a table, i'm a good pig..will not..shall not..
hmmmmmpf....must.. hold.. up.. pee..."
What someone suggested to me, is to put her pig back in the cage at the
moment she started looking like this and then, when the pig finally went
(you can see this, they turn their little bums) she held a shallow plastic
cup underneath. For her it worked. I luckily didn't have to try that again.

Btw, i'm having problems with my eyes and cannot respond to email as quickly
as i used to. I found my old glasses yesterday (i normally wear
contactlenses) so things should get better. I do look really non-fashionable
since they are at least 12 years old hihi. But don't worry if i dont respond
as quickly, we survived the storm btw ;-).
Cuddles to all,
Janneke, Suus (who is annoyed why she isnt getting as many veggies as she
ought too), yaya with soft poo, again...and jan the boar who is as happy as
ever.
