Whew.. What a day/night.. We went to the vet and he said that it could be
some metabolic thing or that he could have weak muscles in his legs.. I kept
asking about Vit C deficiency but he said that he didn't think that was
going on.. he gave me some NutriCal to boost up his calories to give him
more energy and a Vit B12 shot.. Of course I'm sure you know what I did
next.. Talked to Tex.. and Kirstin.. and Cher... A LOT.. (thanks guys..)
Well, today I'm not thinking that he's made a vast improvement.. but he's
more willing to snack on cucumbers and romaine.. I started giving him Vit C
suppliment and got out my critical care that I had in the freezer and forgot
I had.. He doesn't particularly care for it and doesn't take much, but he's
also eating the veggies... even though he's not eating a ton, he's at least
producing poos again.. although way smaller than what we're used to.. Sooo..
we're going to keep with the Vit C, Critical Care and the veggies.. offering
water since he can't move so well to get to his water bottle.. I think his
eyes look more like he's actually "at home" again.. yesterday he looked so
out of it.. I'm hoping that today is the first step toward recovery.. I'm
still scared to death.. but glad that it's a long weekend with MLK day.. My
mom watched my son here at our home so she could keep an eye on Brownie for
me while I went to work.. I have to say that is the latest I've stayed up
wired in a long long time!!
What do you all think about calcium suppliments too??
Thanks for all the care, concern, and advice you've given us.. It means the
world to us..
