[Gpdd] [GPDD] Misc: Checking in from the deep freeze!

Just checking in here - thanks for asking about us. Yes, we're                                          doing ok here in OK - so far, so good! The worst part is past,                                         now just very cold and lots of wind. Most areas without power                                  are south of us. 
  Here at Cavy Lodge we're staying warm, plenty to eat, hoping we                             don't lose electricity or water. Roads were really bad all weekend,                              but are beginning to be passable. I also got a big plasic tarp, and                                 covered my car with it. (of course, I realized my cell phone was                                    still in the car, so I had to uncover the door a bit ;- )  But at least                                     now I don't have scrape windows again!  
  Lots of people without power, many in shelters, but, so far we've                              been  lucky. We're also hoping for decent weather by the weekend                                - our little cavy club is holding our first workshop of the year this                         Saturday on basics ("Guinea Pig 101').  
  One interesting bit to all this, the local tv stations have also shown                             some pics of this winter wonderland - one weather cam showed a                          pigeon looking at the mess, some bright red Cardinals perched on                                icy trees and fences, kids sledding and even ice skating in their                               backyards!

  We hope this storm doesn't hit our friends north and east of 
  us too hard - wishing everypig warm toes and full tummies!
