I suppose they don't need them.  Mine stay clean, but I bathe them every few
months (sometimes monthly) when their dander flares up my husband's
allergies or if their hair gets really oily (especially in the summer).
It's also a nice time to do nail trims as the nail softens in the warm
water.  I don't know if they enjoy it, but since mine have had regular baths
since I brought them home, they tolerate it well and aren't stressed out
about it.
