While I have heard it mentioned a time or two that a
guinea pig may eat their young, though very unlikely,
I have never seen it done, and don't know anyone who
has. I would rather imagine what someone has seen
is the sow eating the afterbirth, which can be quite
large, and might appear at first glance as a part of
a baby. Surely most times any animal would eat
the young would be, as suggested, because there
was something already wrong with it.
And, as I told Nicholle already, I am sorry she had
to deal with such ignorance. But that's what it is,
ignorance - and their loss! She's a stronger person
than I am to put up with it at her own party! Geez!
All we can do is be patient, and sometimes through
education perhaps some will be enlightened.
But, aren't we blessed to know the truth?!!
