Regarding the "little red bumps" that you may get on your arms and hands after handling your piggy:

I have learned that that is an allergy not to the piggy but to traces of urine that may be on piggy's claws.  The bumps do go down pretty quickly (hour or 2??) and should not itch or give you any problems.  It doesn't mean you can't have pigs, but if you want to avoid it, you could wear a long sleeved shirt when handling the piggy, or make sure to keep piggy on a towel.
