Greetings, Jaime -

I am so sorry to hear that your little MollyBug is having problems again.
You know that I will be holding y'all close in my heart and thoughts every
second and sending you strength and healing.

I don't have any experience with feeding piggies bread. I have heard some
of the digesters - Penney may be one of them? - say that they fix a bread
mush for sick piggies that really helps, but I can't remember what is in it.
I have also seen other digesters say that bread is not good for piggies.
<sigh> Why can't anything ever be simple? :o(

I have mashed pellets up with enough water to make them thick but real soft
and put just a drop or two of apple juice or applesauce or cranberry juice
(or a crushed up critterberry [Oxbow] in it - they LOVED that!) just to give
it a bit of a sweet 'lure' and used that and it worked well. I didn't
syringe it - I just put it in a small little bowl.

Sounds like you are doing a great job with the hay and fruits and veggies.
I don't know what else you could do along those lines. You're a GREAT
piggie mama!

Sorry she is itchy. Could it possibly be the antibiotics?? Sometimes my
Mollie would seem a bit itchy on ABs and sometimes she wouldn't, but she
never showed signs of mites or fungus, so we figured it had to be the ABs
although we never figured out why it only happened sometimes and not every
time (or never). I wouldn't think that the shampoo would hurt her as long
as you kept it away from her face (eyes, ears, and mouth).

Oh, my friend, I will really be thinking about y'all. I know how hard it is
to have a sick piggie. It's so hard not to feel crazed with helplessness
and concern about whether or not you are doing every single thing you can to
make it better.

Give Molly ten thousand kisses for me and, of course, I'm sending a million
hugs to you. Please let me know how things go with Molly. I hope she
doesn't have to have the surgery but, if she does, let me know ahead of time
if you are able to so I can put her into a Healing Circle (something my
Choctaw/Cherokee Grandmother taught me a long time ago).

Still at Mama's house. It is BLISTERIN' HOT here and SO muggy!!!!
AAARRRGGGHHH!!!! I've gotten so spoiled in the summers living in Oregon!
I'm a WIMP!! :) :) Continuing to get things packed up. Mama's birthday
was on the 17th and I took a little bitty cake and put a 9 candle and a 4
candle on it for 94 years old and sang Happy Birthday to her. Is that
silly?? I just really miss her, but there is a sense of peace about it,
too, so I feel blessed to be in a relatively okay place about it. [[With
all the prankish mischief that has been going on at the house since I have
been here, I wouldn't doubt that Mama was actually "in attendance" at her
little impromptu birthday party... probably just as well I did it -
hahaha.]]

Much love to you and your dear little furry girl,

Candy

Well, I took Molly to the vets yesterday afternoon. I just didn't
feel like she could wait till today. It's her abscess again. That's
why
she's having trouble eating & her eye is bulging again. Dr. Hall said
to give the ABs time (about a week) & to keep feeding her whatever I
can get her to eat. She unfortunately hates her C.C. & is finicky to
begin with. If they can't get the abscess under control with the ABs,
he said he would have to remove the eye to get to the abscess to
remove
that. He said he has removed eyes on other piggies & they have done
well & since she is blind anyway, she will not notice any difference
in vision. Hopefully it will not come to that, but he wanted to
prepare us for that possibility. She is doing ok, but can't eat
pellets. That leads me to question #1, Can she eat small pieces of
bread? Like the soft middle part of white or wheat bread? That would
kind of make up for the lack of grain in the pellets maybe? She can
munch some hay if I cut it up into tiny pieces for her & does eat some
C.C. off of a paper plate. She refuses to use the syringe. Also she is
eating canned pumpkin & I'm chopping her fruits & veggies into tiny
pieces. She is also itchy, & he checked her for mites, fleas, fungal
infection, everything seems ok. Can I bathe her in like "Head &
Shoulders" shampoo to help the itching? Or is that to strong? Sorry
for all the ?'s, I just want her to feel better. Please keep her in
your prayers. Thanks.
