Debbie- You are doing fine. It just takes more time
with some than others, and considering the rough
start this little guy had, he will likely need lots of
TLC. I would say if the two get along ok now, let
them be together, just continue to observe to be
sure it doesn't get too intense, they may need a
break from each other. Probably by them sharing
some special lap time, the little one will get the
hang of it sooner, and realize he is not going to
be on the menu. (I have made the mistake of
holding a new little one up to talk to, eye to eye,
only to realize it was much too close to my mouth
for his comfort! we have to put ourselves in their
  'shoes' sometimes)
They need to feel safe, above all else, and repeated
cuddles, even if you don't pick him up, sharing little
treats, etc, and letting him see the 'big guys' enjoying
your attention, will help. And then, as you well know,
some just never enjoy being held as much as others.
Buzzerre was always that way, we'd pick her up and
immediately she wanted to launch into space, as if
she could fly! Of course, I wouldn't be surprised at
anything she does, considering she knows how to
turn on the lights and operate the remote!
  Piggie hugs'n'kisses,
  Susi & the Okie PIggies
-Buzzerre, once again, Pig In Charge
