Dear Nicholle and Bwee-Squared
I have a 4' x 3' run on the floor of my bedroom that my pigs live in. I
have pulled it away from my bedroom window as there is a bit of a draft
there at night. I also drap a big blanket at the window end of the run at
night and also around the other sides of the run to stop any draft.
However, your problem is coming through the floor, and I can fully appreciate
why you need to get your cage off there, especially if Ryssi caught
pneumonia. How about two coffee tables to stand the cage on? They'd
definitely be strong enough to do the job and not make the cage too tall in
height. Purchased from a car boot sale, I would have thought it would be
quite an inexpensive way to elevate the cage. Or maybe two bedside tables
that are the same height? Again, if purchased from a charity shop or car
boot sale, cost shouldn't be a worry. You could also put little 'cuddle
cups' in the cage for added warmth (they're a lot like cat nappers).
If I think of anything esle, I'll let you know.
Carole
