Hi Jaime.

Congratulations on getting any kind of response from these people. I don't know where to start responding. I guess the first thing would be for him to define "humanely" killed. Unless it is a Kosher product, this country does not have a great track record for "humanely" killing anything! Then we come to the question of "breeder mills" for raising an intelligent loving creature for the sole purpose of food. Just because something is acceptable in one country does not make it acceptable in the US. The killing of whales for food or any other purpose is the first example that comes to mind.

Because a situation occurs in Nature does not excuse any zoo in the US from attempting to duplicate it. I wonder how many aligators etc. live in the Guinea Pig's natural habitat. This is a contrived situation created by man. There may be restaurants that have GP's on their menus but I don't personally know of any in my area. Perhaps Southern Florida is different.

"While some people consider Guinea Pigs to be pets"...in the US MOST people consider Guinea Pigs to be pets. In this country feeding a Guinea Pig to another creature is tantamount to using a cat or dog as a food source.

To me Mr. Kledzik's reasoning is proof of someone who just "doesn't get it" and excuses nothing. He is supporting just one of many deplorable industries that occur in this country.

  Good for you for trying.
