[Gpdd] HEALTH: Constipation

What are the best things to do for a gp with constipation problems? Silky has
recently slowed down A LOT in her production of poop. She still eats very well, good
appetite, and a lot of interest in chewing on things. But her output does not match.

I would really appreciate your help on this one. I am away from my good vet, and I
don't trust the vet here that much. He prescribed Laxatone. For a gp! And he was
talking about possibly an enema for her, if things didn't straighten out. I've never
heard of such a thing as an enema for a gp. Have you?

Silky's current treatment is based on advice from my good vet (in another state, I
called him. He discouraged the use of Laxatone for her.). I'm giving her benebac,
lots of watery greens -- mostly romaine, some apple, and making sure she gets lots of
fiber, timothy hay and bermuda grass hay. I've been doing this for a while, but she
is not well yet.

She has Cushing's, so her abdomen is naturally distended, and I've noticed long
before this that she had some gas and gurgling in her tummy.

I've been looking online, but many sites don't mention this problem for gps.

Thanks,
Bethany and Silky, missing Sooty
