Hi Debbie. You are doing a great job with your fur babies. As you said, how many of them would no longer be alive if you had not rescued them. As for not spending time with each one individually, they have each other and that makes them very happy. They really don't need us for anything besides food and water when they have a large number in their herd.

Speaking for myself, I originally wanted two or maybe three but as it happens The Lady Bug is one of those rare Guinea Pigs that has no tolerence for her own kind. She is extremely possessive of both her house and me. I went through 3 beautiful sweet little girls trying to find one she could get along with but she would have none of it. She indulged in very un-piggy like behavior in that she literally tried to kill anyone I tried to put with her. After the third one I just gave up and yes, all three girls have a fantastic home, are treated like queens and are still together.

Lady Bug is an alpha female and to this day tries to lord it all over me. I let her get away with it as long as it doesn't hurt her. We do lap and cuddle time because I like it and it is the only other contact the Bug gets. Remember, this is her choice, not mine. She was such a little witch that I at no time ever considered giving her up. She is hard to live with.

You are contributing so much more to the welfare of Guinea Pigs than I ever will. I'm sure your Piggys know in their own way what you are doing for them and love you for it.

Joan, slave to The Lady Bug
