[Gpdd] MISC - the triumph of the snuggle sack

I just want to say a big THANK YOU to Joan and Alge who suggested
using other things than The Hand to try to pick up Rocky and Cocoa!
(And to Penny, who helped me believe it will be all right in the end.
(-: ) Since we got the snuggle sacks, we've been using them, and
while the piggies don't rush to get in, we have a method now that
means we can pick them up with almost no chasing (and therefore
little terror for them) at all: First we herd one down to the end of
the cage with the little house in it, and then block his path so he
goes into the little house (this is small-shoebox size, with one hole
in one long side and one in one short side). Then we put the snuggle
sack in front of one doorway, and then we stick The Hand in the other
hole. At this point the piggie reluctantly trundles into the snuggle
sack. Then we do it again with the other suspicious wheekie.

After that they are carried to the living room for what can only be
described as a sitting session: we sit and pet them, while they sit
in the sack and endure it. We always put a leaf or bit of apple in
there with them, and if we stop petting them and leave them alone for
long enough, they MAY nibble at it. When they go back into their
cage, there are always new leaves waiting for them, which they're
always happy to eat!

Cheers,
Suzy, Rocky, and Cocoa
"Whee love leaves!"
