Just for the sake of argument, for those of in the central US, FedEx
shipping from Sweet Meadow Farm and UPS shipping from Kleenmama's Hayloft
are basically the same. I've received excellent customer service from both
places!
An added bonus to buying pellets from Sweet Meadow Farm for some of us is
that they offer USPS shipping which works out to be a great deal.
I agree that Oxbow's pellets, in my opinion, are very dusty, and I've also
had some customer service issues with Oxbow (wrong order once, torn pellet
bag once, and moldy hay twice). Having said that, my picky pigs like these
pellets.
It seems to be a common issue on the board that Kleenmama's Hayloft pellets,
though they have great composition and high vitamin C, are not popular among
pickier pigs. I think this is great to point out to members who are in the
market for new pellets. I've always been pleased with the Kleenmama's
Hayloft hay (also with Oxbow's hay, but it's quite a bit more expensive than
Kleenmama's Hayloft hay).
I suppose that the phrase "to each his own" really applies here... :)
I think it all really depends on your pig, where you live, and your level of
expectations. Anyways, I didn't intend to start such a crazy discussion
about pellets and hay, but now that it's been had, I think it's good
information for everyone!
