First, thanks to everyone who sent kind words after Petunia crossed
the Bridge. We sure miss her silly little ways.
Second, I wanted to share a "conversion" story with you.
As many of you know, this spring my husband and I split up. The kids,
animals, and I ended up living at my parents. Dad is 91, mom is 82.
When I first realized I had to move, my mom said the pigs wouldn't be
able to come. That was the only time I cried during the whole
marriage break up!!! Anyway, mom eventually agreed to letting the
pigs come, since I wouldn't have gone without them anyway.
Since we've moved here, mom is now making salads for the Haypile
Honeys every day. At first she was afraid to open the cages, as she
was frightened of the tewibble toofies biting at the bars. Now she
plows right in to feed 'em! And dad, who used to refer to the girls
as "those things", now takes breaks from his active day to give
carrots and lettuce to "his girls". They even teared up when Petunia
died!
The moral of the story? you are never too old to be a slave!
