I've noticed quite a few of the piggies who have gone to The Rainbow Bridge
had attained very respectable ages of 5 or more years. Obviously this is
something all slaves would want for their piggies, so I wondered if we could
identify any common elements in their care which might have contributed to their
longevity. I personally would be REALLY grateful to have the following
questions answered by slaves of elderly pigs:

1. What was/is the piggie's main diet, apart from the obvious hay? I'm
interested in pellets and fresh stuff, including quantities for latter.

2.Did/does the piggie live indoors or outdoors, and alone or with companions?

3. Had/has the piggie had any veterinary treatment during its life - eg
antibiotics, neutering or other surgery, abscesses/parasites, other health issues?

4. Did/does the piggie have weight loss as he/she grew older? I'd be really
interested in knowing the piggie's maximum weight and his/her current weight
or weight just before departure to The Bridge.

I'd be really interested to know how many slaves on the gpdd have elderly
piggies, ie over 5 years old. Most of the Dolly Mixtures are due to turn 5 next
year, starting January, and I am dreading it because I fear they will be
departing for the Bridge in droves. Already many of them are losing weight. I
know several slaves have told me their elderly piggies have not lost weight, or
have even gained, so I am wondering if there is some way I should change the
diet of the Dolly Mixtures. Also, I wonder if piggies are less likely to
reach a ripe old age if they have experienced health problems when younger?

Maybe there could be another "club" like LAPS, but for piggies over 5 years
of age?
