As to what type of piggy you have, the long haired ones are as follows.

Peruvian. Long hair which falls forward over the face.
Sheltie ( I think that you call these Silkies in the US ) Long hair that flows backwards from the face.
Coronet. As Sheltie but with a crest on top of the head.

If the coat is curly, your piggy could be a Texel, Merino or Alpaca.
