Jaime,

I spoke to my Rodentologists today and told them about Mimi's not quite diarrhoea. A while ago, they had a mystery piggy in their hospital who had soft poos for no apparent reason. All other avenues had been explored but Chris had a hunch that this piggy, Poppet, had some kind of digestive upset that was at the root of her problem.

She decided to try Acidophilus. She bought some capsules from a health food store, emptied the powder from the capsule and divided the contents onto 3 parts. She mixed it with a little water and syringed it to the piggy one part per day and the transformation was amazing. This piggy quickly regained her lost weight as well as her shapely poos and was able to go home.

Chris now gives Acidophilus to any piggies with delicate tummies. It doesn't always make any difference and there have been no proper clinical trials but she has seen enough good results to carry on with it.

It might be worth giving this to Mimi. If it doesn't help, no harm will have been done and you seem to have exhausted all other possibilities.

Chris has found that the capsules from Holland and Barrett, a health food chain in the UK, dissolve the easiest but I'm sure that there is a US store that will stock them.

The label on her bottle says " Typically providing 3 billion viable cells. 100mg.pectin". So that's a third of a capule per day. Keep them in the fridge.

I don't know if this might help Angela's "other" Mimi as hers seems to be more of a gas problem but even if it doesn't work it will do no harm.

Love to both Mimis.

Penny and the Piggyfriends.
