Hello all,Thank you to everyone who has mailed or posted about Wigwam and Big Rumble.Captain Noodle appears to be getting on fairly well with George the Water Balloon. They are out together and George does tend to chase Noodle around a bit, but it's more playing than chasing and I think George knows when to keep away. This was quite a pleasant surprise as I have only had George a little over a month. I also picked up a rabbit I was due to adopt on Wednesday last week, this is a lionhead grey rabbit called Buddy who is aged five. I had to drive for 90 minutes along open moorland in freezing temperatures under a full moon to fetch him. Buddy was adopted optimistically as a companion for my rabbit Poppy, who is about three (or older). Predictably, she doesn't like him at all, although as he is housed in a large pen in the guinea pig playroom, he hasn't encroached upon her territory. Buddy is very laid back and happy to watch the pigs playing outside his run. There is a babygate in the doorway to prevent unauthorised Poppy access, so the rabbits can see each other without invasions of territory. At the same time I picked up Buddy I had an e-mail from the rescue where I had found George, asking if I could home a young pig who had been in a hutch with about ten other pigs (the result of a pair breeding, then the sow and daughters breeding immediately afterwards). He was stressed at the rescue due to the proximity of other guinea pigs, having known nothing but fighting before he got there. He is a smooth haired pig with brown patches. His left ear was split all the way down and both ears were torn and bitten (although healed). I had a spare carry box in the car so took him back with Buddy. He is in a hutch in my bedroom at the moment. I called him Shiner (although some of my friends have called him "The Pig With No Name" because it took me a few days to come up with a suitable name) partly as he looks like he has a big black eye, but mostly because he had had such an unhappy start in life and I thought that was a positive-sounding name (like a shining star). He is turning out to be a bit of a squealer and squeals back when he hears the other pigs squealing. Obviously new pigs don't resolve the loss you feel when a loved one dies, but it is cheering to have Shiner running madly round and round his hutch in the middle of the night.Milton and the LadsCaptain Noodle, Scallywag, Pepperpot, Poppy the Werebunny, George the Water Balloon, Buddy and Shiner
