Hi all,

There has been a big GP rescue in Methuen, Mass of over 100. I have been a volunteer at the Medfield Animal Shelter when they have piggies. They picked up four boars from the Methuen rescue. I will be working with the shelter to socialize them and get them ready for new homes. Their ages are guessed at 6-8 months.

I was told the pigs are in a state of shock right now. Not moving around much, huddling in the pigloo, and not eating. I will be going up tomorrow to see them. I would appreciate any suggestions on how best to proceed. I think they have been through so much I shouldn't try and hold them just yet. Just sit and talk softly to them for a few days. What do you all think?

Also, I will be looking for forever homes for these guys in the future. If you have room for a boar or two ,and live within a few hours travel time, let me know.

The sows all went to foster homes as most are probably pregnant. When they have their babies there will be more looking for homes.

Why can't people just separate the boys from the girls? How many smarts does that take? Duh!
