I had gone down to the local Animal Control to check out a guinea pig they had there.  By the time I arrived, there were two additional ones, a mother and her baby (Kiwi).  The mama (Karma) and the older one (Kuddles) were among a bunch of piggies that were kept in a garage and were being ignored.  Only Karma and Kuddles were left.  However, Karma was pregnant and had been fostered until Friday afternoon.  Kuddles appears to be full grown and is very sweet and docile.  She was licking my arm within minutes of holding her at Animal Control.  Karma is not much more than a baby herself, I don't think, judging from her weight.  Kiwi had already gained 30 grams by Sunday and she's very active.  When they are that size, it's like trying to handle a Mexican jumping bean.

I guess I felt compelled to get them all out of there.  Kuddles was in a cage with cedar shavings and Kiwi and Karma in a cage with a second level with a wire bottom.  Both are no nos for piggies.  Of course, there was no sign of hay anywhere, a necessary item for these little guys.  (I did tell the people at Animal Control that cedar shavings and wire bottoms were no good for piggies.)

It was crazy to bring home all three, but I couldn't help but feel a little "karma" was at work here.   I just didn't feel like I could leave any of them there and they were meant to come home with me.

I've uploaded a few pictures of the latest additions at: http://s173.photobucket.com/albums/w50/Munchees10/

There's also a little video of the Munchees on the website.
