Hi Slaves and piggies.

Jan the boar is really sick. He has diarrhoea. I had a very scary weekend. On friday everything was fine, I gave him his weekly checkup and found out that he loooved it when I rubbed his belly while he was lying on his back (it was soo cute, you should have seen the smile on his face). On saturday he started having his diarrhoea. My poor boy was soo sick. So I gave him yaya's herbal meds and her protexin, which is a probiotic. When I woke up sundaymorning there were spots in the cage where it just looked like he had exploded. He also wasn't eating anymore. So I started forcefeeding him science recovery every two hours. In the afternoon he also had a lot of blood in his diarrhoea. The girls were very sweet to him, washing him and keeping him warm. I separated them for a while but he was even more miserable without them. He looked so bad, I sometimes just poked him (softly ofcourse) just to check if he was still alive.
On monday morning I rushed him to the vet (why do these things happen in the weekend!?). She agreed that he didn't look good and she wanted to keep him there so that she could closely monitor him and provide him with everything he needs (antibiotics fluids etc.)
Since I had a holiday planned I phoned a colleague (she works in a rodent shelter and also has three pigs. I really trust her). She is going to pick up Jan when he's better (i'm a positive thinker, for now, i wont accept any other thoughts from myself). And for now, she is taking care of my girls. She loves doing that. I planned to take my pigs with me on my trip (im visiting my sister). But taking Jan is not an option and when he comes back from the vet I want my girls to be there for him. I'm sure he misses them.

I do not have a lot of time to respond to the digest right now (i'm starting my new job tomorrow, travelling from my sisters place is almost as far as my own house, i know it's supposed to be my holiday but it's only a parttime job). But I would just like to say that I love the pigtures you guys are sending us! Also know that I'm keeping fingers crossed for all the sick piggies out there and feel sad whenever I read about one of them leaving us (kacee, big hug! your story about munch was very special).

Grtz&Wkz
Janneke, without her winky team :-(
