The website does have a page that explains where their money goes to, and according to what is up there, it is still a charitable donation. Yes, they donate to those three organizations, but please look at it for yourselves. I do realize that the summaries given are to put the best spin on each organization, but it does sound like they help. Here are the three mentioned, with some of the good deeds listed on that website:

Fund for Animals:  constant lobbying and legal battles to help get rid of things such as horse slaughter houses within the US.

North Shore Animal League: placement of otherwise homeless or mistreated animals.

Petfinder.com Foundation: not just the website, but a foundation that helps with supporting numerous animal welfare organizations that also use Petfinder.com. They give grants of equipment, supplies, and funds to help aid homeless animals.

When reading these, I do not see how our clicking a button to generate money for them can be a bad thing.
