[Gpdd] HEALTH: young pregnant pig (Teresa)

Hi Teresa!  I lost all of my 3 pig girls in 2006.  (Talk about heartbreak!)  I adopted 
a 1 1/2 - 2 year old (Spicy) and a baby about 6 weeks old (Merri).  Then, I adopted another baby (Macie) who was about 5 weeks old but little did anyone know, she came into rescue already pregnant by her father!  I was a nervous wreck because she was very tiny!  I took her to a specialist for a sonogram and was told that she was carrying two really big babies.  The vet told me it was important to know how many babies to expect in case she didn't deliver both.  When it got closer to the birth (she stopped eating) I kept a close eye on her, knowing she may need immediate vet intervention.  HOW could such a tiny little girl deliver such big babies?!  Ya know what?  Macie did fine and I woke early the morning of April 12, 2007 to two healthy newborns!
So, if your new little girl is pregnant, I hope she comes through it as well as my Macie.  Our family now have two boys (Teddy and Baci) and we are thrilled!
