Dear Heather

Sorry to hear about Seussy being dehydrated. It is possible that some of
the discolouration of his urine is because of the pigment in the red leaf
lettuce. Make sure that you are making up the pedialyte to the right
dilution - if it is too strong it might have the reverse effect - the idea
is to balance the electrolytes. Too weak and it won't have the right effect
either. Avoid giving Seussy dandelion as this is diuretic, and will
encourage fluid to pass out of the body.

Can I suggest that you try to liquidise his salad normal food and syringe
that to him? That way he will get his proper balance of nutrients and it
will be in liquid form; if you have a juicer that would be great for doing
it. Also offer him water in a bowl, he might drink from that. You could
even dissolve a little vitamin C in the water in the bowl - some piggies
like the taste.

Sorry to hear about Seussy's cancer; now it has been removed he is probably
feeling better, but it will take him a little while to get over the surgery.
Is he passing his faecal pellets OK? The fact that Seussy is still active
is a good sign.

Hamlet has been very brave, too. Best to avoid giving him parsley and kale
as these are high in oxalates and can lead to stones in some piggies.

Hope this is helpful. You, Seussy and Hamlet are in our prayers.
