Oh Sandy,
This is too much. It is totally unfitting that you should end up in this
situation just because you challenged "the powers that be" on someone else's
behalf a few months ago.
Do you have a state representative that you can get in touch with right
away? Kasich (spelling) used to be incredibly accessible to people in his area
in the Columbus, Ohio, suburbs when he was still in political office. (Now he
sometimes fills in for Bill O'Reilly on the Fox news channel, but I won't
hold that against him.)
Should worst come to worst, call TV news programs, newspapers --
anything that might keep the ax from falling. But then, of course, they (your apt.
mgt.) will really be out to get you.
Are there volunteers out there who can temporarily take Manny if
necessary? Can you get a 2nd doctor's order? (I don't suppose that's possible.)
My daughter had to have her 8 year old Siamese cat put to sleep in a
similar situation last year. Pet orphanage wouldn't take it because Siamese don't
adjust well to being rehomed. Two or three weeks after the still traumatic
deed she discovered that all she needed was a note from the doctor that the cat
was necessary for her daughter. I didn't even know what was going on until
after the fact.
I wouldn't know how to get Manny to Ohio as I'm 3/4 of the way across
the continent, but I would keep him for a while until you got resettled. Anyway
to make that happen?
Please keep us (me) posted. Certainly one of our great members close to
you will come through.
Come on folks -- someone help!
Alge
