[Gpdd] Care: fleece in cages

Hi friends!
Does anyone use fleece on the bottom of their cages instead of or in addition to bedding material?  
I've been looking online and see that some slaves use fleece but I'm thinking it must get wet and dirty and maybe even stay wet for the piggies.
It looks pretty and comfy, but the care of it must be time consuming.  Do you put the fleece in your own washing machine?
I often use comfy towels, etc. in one area of the cage for my babies but I end up throwing them out or hand washing them.
I'd love to hear about anyone who uses fleece.
