Hi Leah,

If you have enough grids, and the little connector thingies, you can  
make a cover out of the grids - that way it won't be too heavy to lift  
off. You can use cable ties to make sure it stays together (the  
connectors should help keep it stiff), and then you can use some sort  
of clips to hold it on. I use bolt snaps (just looked up what they're  
called now!) to hold the "doors" on my cage shut, and those work well.
