Hello to all my fellow pig lovers and your babies,

Well, I'm going to try this yet again. A couple of days after I wrote the
list that I was on the mend and would be back on the list as well, I took a
tumble in a parking lot while out shopping and broke my wrist. It has
been in a cast until yesterday and I am now in a soft cast/splint. Like I
told Alge... I now believe that there is indeed a God and he is out to get
me this year! :)

Anyway, the writing will be slow for a bit as my hand is very stiff, as are
my fingers. But, I think that if I can get them moving by typing, they will
loosen up more quickly.

I was sad to hear about all of the losses that have happened while I have
been recuperating from the heart attack, surgery and broken wrist. It truly
makes my heart twinge and brings tears to my eyes when I read of all the
little ones moving on. My love and thoughts are with all of you who have
suffered such a loss this year.

Samantha and Tabitha are both doing well. Getting fat, fat, fat! They are
still a delight and have such very distinct personalities. Tabitha is the
drama queen; Samantha is the stoic, matriarch type who takes everything in
stride. Tabitha will see one of us coming toward the cage and as soon as we
reach for her, she starts squealing. No one has even touched her yet, but
she's acting like we're holding her up by an ear! Then,, if you pull your
hand back an inch or two... silence. Move it forward again... wheek, wheek,
wheek. She is so funny. Sammy still runs for a while then will finally
stop and just let us pick her up. I don't know if it is a game or she just
gives up in resignation! She had a little problem a few months ago. A
friend of mine noticed her eye looked kind of funny so I took her to the
vet, who discovered she had a grass seed imbedded in her eye. I was
horrified, to say the least. So, they put her to sleep and took it out.
The vet said it had just started to ulcerate. So, I brought her home with a
tube of ointment for her eye. I tried putting it in myself a couple of
times with a resulting very messy pig and no ointment in the eye. So, since
Earl was out of town at the time, my neighbor came over and doctored her 3
times a day for me. They are awesome people and their little girl loves
piggies too! She brought me a stuffed pig from their Florida vacation. It
looks just like Sam. :)

Well, time to rest this wrist a bit. I don't want to overdo it and cause
more problems. Oh, by the way, the girls are demanding that I tell you
their news. Al, at Sweet Meadow Farms, was sent a copy of their song (sung
to the tune of Jingle Bells) singing the praises of the hay from there and
he is going to post it, as well as their Christmas pics, on the Sweet Meadow
Farm web site. They are so proud and soooo excited! I'll keep you updated
as to when it will be on there. Ah, makes a slave proud....

Hugs and whisker kisses,
Lynn, Samantha & Tabitha
