I really don't understand how a bunch of cubes snapped together makes the
cage.
When you buy the panels, you get clips to fasten the pieces together. I
found these very frustrating to use and we just used plastic cable ties (or you
might call them zip ties). They are sold in all hardware stores.

If they are cubes, where is the open area for the pigs to run in?
They are called cubes because their original use was for inexpensive storage
but some clever piggie person figured out a way to build them into cages.

Also, what makes the tray to put the bedding in? Do you have to buy a pan
or
something?
The tray is the toughest part. One of my friend uses a tray designed to
hold air conditioners but we found that very difficult to locate. We built a
tray using some sort of material designed for showers as a water barrier. I am
not that clever and would recommend consulting the cage website for advice
on building a tray.

Also, are these cubes plastic or metal?
These cubes have some sort of plastic coating over light metal.

One last thing... it says that a 2 x 4 cube cage makes an area of
approximately 29" x 56" or
something like that. It mentions grids in there and I think it says there
are like 23 grids. What exactly are they referring to as a grid? I really
hate to come across as stupid but not being able to see these pics is a
definite hindrance here.

The grids are combined to formed cubes.

"It doesn't matter what the kids say. Rabbits are not disposable like a box
of cereal or a Disney video. They WILL get tired of the rabbits and go on to
the next toy. YOU will have to deal with the consequences. Unfortunately,
most people deal with the situation by DUMPING their rabbits on someone else.
Ultimately, it is the bunny that pays for your inability to say NO."
