How can this be? So many of our dear piggie friends seem to be departing at  
this time. Is it the winter weather or what? We were so very sorry to hear 
that  your beloved Dude had gone - though as we have just said, sometimes we feel 
it  may be better for the piggie just to sneak away during the night than to 
have to  endure a long and painful illness with perhaps frightening 
interventions. We are  sure Dude did know how very much he was loved. We  understand 
your wanting  to be rid of the cage and not wanting to become a piggie slave 
again - it is a  job that automatically brings with it a lot of grief. But try to 
remember also  the joy that these little furbies bring us, the love and beauty 
and gentleness -  would you really never want to share that again? 
 
Mummy slave Debbie also says she will have no more guinea pigs once the  last 
Dolly Mixture has left for the Bridge, because there is no adequate vet  care 
for them here in France ... but we wonder if she will be able to keep to  
that resolve, as she loves her piggies so much.
 
Please find some comfort in the fact that you are not alone in your grief,  
and slaves all over the world are thinking of you at this very sad time.
