Hello everyone,

I have not posted much, but I am usually here reading the daily digests and
learning lots.

I have two girls who were out for floor time Thursday night. I always
strategically place old towels in places they tend to do their business to
protect the carpet. It just so happened that one was a white towel. When
putting the girls up, I noticed a pinkish red spot on one of the white
towels. It was moist, so I knew it was fresh (versus some random stain on
the towel). I didn't see any other traces on the floor, so spread the white
towel out in their cage. It didn't take long to determine that it was
Buttons, who is approx 3 years old. I only saw small drops in places where
she would sit for at least a few seconds, but none of the spots were as big
as the one I saw while they were out on the floor. It wasn't bright red
like blood, but more like a diluted pink, as if it was blood mixed in urine.

I took her to the vet yesterday (Monday) and the vet prescribed Baytril for
7 days, .5 cc every 12 hours. The vet suspected it was a UTI, but we were
unable to get a urine sample from Buttons to check for sure.

This is my first experience with this, so does anyone have advice or words
of wisdom for me? Any advice when using Baytril? I know I have seen
various posts relating to the medication and to UTIs, but I would rather
check with the "experts" to make sure I am not missing anything.

Thanks in advance!
Mary K.
