Hello all,

After the very sad loss of my last BeJabber family member, Trixie, I finally have some good news. I have a friend who works part-time in Amarillo as a nurse. She called me Saturday to ask me if I wanted to adopt a new furbaby. A family in Amarillo had taken a guinea pig and a schnauzer to the vet clinic and dropped them off. I know of no guinea pig rescue anywhere close, but I'm sure the dog went to the adoption center in Amarillo. My friend told me that they had no idea what to do with the piggy, so they were going to take it to the pet store to be fed to a snake! Can you believe that? This guinea pig is about 3 years old. What a horrible, horrible death! Brandi told me she would be glad to bring the pig to me on Sunday. I would certainly have taken the baby no matter the reason, but how could they feed a 3-year old guinea pig to a snake? After finding that out, I would have driven to pick it up ($50 worth of gas, but that's okay).

Well, Brandi remembered she was supposed to pick up the guinea pig after she was already half way home (it's a 2-hour drive), but she called them and they are going to get it to me this Saturday. The vet clinic will care for him/her until then. I don't know if the piggy is a boy or a girl, what color or breed it is, or anything. Don't care! Bubba, KissaBella, and I will welcome him/her no matter what. At least now the vet clinic knows that someone will take any stray guinea pigs. We're very excited.

I would also like to take this time to thank everyone for all the nice, sweet thoughts after our loss. I know that I can always depend on all you "crazy guinea pig lovin' people." You mean the world to me.
