Hi Every Pig and Every Person.
I ordered Marion Robison's (better known here as Bellarobi) Guinea Pig
book, "Poly Pig and Sweetie Find a Home." I had just received it and was
reading it just prior to last week's power outage and so it was that I got so caught
up in it that I actually finished reading the last few pages with a
flashlight late that night. (And I'm not one to waste flashlight batteries when the
power is out.)
I was amazed by the originality of the artwork, It's adorable! My power
went off just as the girls had left the piggies alone outside! (But I don't
want to give away any of the plot) so I HAD to read on though I'll admit to
calling the power company before finishing it.
The structure and content are both terrific though my piggies must be
real gluttons compared to Poly Pig and Sweetie. But they have to get that
vitamin C! And plenty of it!
The do's and don'ts at the back of the book are outstanding and make it
even more of an informative book while imparting a highly interesting story
line. The large cage, all those little details that are so important are part of
the story, starting with the trip to the pet shop and the purchases there.
Oh -- And we know those little colorful "fences" we all know so well.
Such details contribute as well as the actual photographs of Poly and Sweetie
inside the back cover page.
The book itself, like the cover, is illustrated with cut out felt. I
fell in love with the cover!
I will truly treasure my copy, share it and recommend it, which is
exactly what I'm doing here!
I am just really taken with the story itself AND the unique art work. My
first thought was, "Wow, How cool." I would have never thought of that of
felt. It makes me feel homey and cozy inside.
My highest compliment -- looking at the cover makes me smile. Even yet.

I feel really lucky, I have 2 GP friends who are published authors, Leah
and Marion, plus Jude who beautifully illustrated Leah book on the Adventures
of Brownie Bear and Butterscotch and is now offering her own line of greeting
cards all of which can be seen at Cavy Madness.com.
What a creative group we have here, including Allyssa's Movie Star
Guinea Pigs featured in "Carrot Wars", Commissioned by HBO. That is still available
in VCR nd DVD I believe. Link:

And let's not forget Jenni, who helped Beethoven Pig a lot in the ever
famous "Beethoven Pig's Rumblestrut Blues."
There's a great deal of other talent here as well, but it's late. Still,
we all know who you are.
