Hi Janet
  One of our sows had a similar problem early on this year, all the 
symptoms’ where the same as Little Luke , as where the treatments , the 
only difference was Cilla was scratching her self to ribbons .
We where at our wits end , Yvonne noticed that when in the past we had 
a piggy with sloppy poo’s, the poo formed a perfectly round balls 
around all the toe nails, we could not use poo , obviously , but Yvonne 
hit on this . We bought some powder and liquid that is used in making 
false fingernails, you  dip the small brush that comes with the kit 
into the liquid and then dab it in the powder, then we dabbed it on to 
the sharp ends of Cilla’s toe nails, just enough to form very small 
balls around the sharp ends , held her for 10-20 mins till dry.  Cilla 
then had perfectly smooth and rounded toe nails , that she could no 
longer damage her self with.

That may or may not be some use to you, as I understand it, Little Luke 
is only using his teeth , or is he !!!.
The next part I am sure will be helpful to Luke.

We then commenced to treat what we considered was the main cause of the 
problem. Not the mites, I think they where well dead after the second 
shot of Ivermectin. We believe the problem was the healing skin, 
tightening  as scabs where forming, and it was this that was driving 
her crazy, so we used cotton wool buds dipped in
to Zink and caster oil 
(nappy rash cream). And dabbed them gently around the drying skin, to 
soften it, we did this 6-7 times a day and it worked , it took about 
2-3 weeks.

Cilla is now fine, and on reading your post,  I went to cheque her over 
. When I pinked her up she felt like she had put on some weight , 225 
grams in fact . Cilla is and 18 month old sow that has had 1 litter 
with her previous keeper, (Cilla is a rescue pig, ) She is pen mate to 
the most humanized old boar Tobby, he is such a wonderful personality, 
and we have been trying to get a litter of him for nearly 2 years.
Sorry for rabbiting on but we are over the moon, it was only two days 
ago we where feeling envious of Lisa, and her happy forthcoming event 
with Qynn.  We are taking Cilla to the vet to confirm .

I just hope it’s not gas.
